About Remco van Dam
Hi, I’m Remco van Dam, a Solution Engineer for Data & Analytics at Microsoft. Welcome to Roesli, my corner of the web where I write about building software with GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Fabric.
I work at Microsoft. The ideas, experiments, and opinions on this site are my own and do not represent Microsoft’s official position.
This blog is where I share:
- Posts — practical notes on prompting, agents, and Copilot workflows.
- Decks — the slides from my talks and demos.
- Videos — short walkthroughs and screen recordings.
What to expect from a guide
I write for engineers who need to build, inspect and operate a data platform, not just recognize the product names. The focus is Microsoft Fabric, Lakehouse and OneLake integration, Power BI semantic models, governance, and agent-assisted engineering.
Walkthroughs describe their data, prerequisites and validation evidence where available. Documentation-based explanations are not benchmarks, and a preview feature is not a promise about production availability. Product behavior changes; check the linked sources and the article’s update date before applying a pattern.
For examples, see the Project Osmos Gold-model walkthrough, the Purview permissions exporter or the Fabric learning paths.
